My guess would be that it comes from the last stat trained. It is definately not random though.

It may not be random, but it's not the last stat trained either. I've lost points from strength and constitution while stacking HP.

My guess is it is your class' prime stat.

I have not lost one in awhile I just seem to remember it being STR on me mercs.

I know you used to be able to re-assign stats...

I've never tried losing anything but int on sorcs/warlocks anything but wis on priests, anything but str on mercs and anything but dex on swashies/rogues... Thus my argument is that it's your main stat.

I lost GM on Rikka a lot (and therefore the stat point that comes with GM a lot). It wasn't always from the same stat, though I always replaced the stat I lost. And, yes, on a sorc it was sometimes str or con or dex that got hit.

Dulrik you already admitted long ago that it comes from the last stat you trained. I remember you put this change in the game specifically in response to that gnome shaman who had put all her stats into mana.

Feel free to believe what you want. I don't remember if I admitted anything of the sort, but the way this worked has changed multiple times.

I can state with certainty that it isn't your prime stat nor is it the stat you trained last. What the system is, I have no idea of knowing, but it doesn't work the way some of you think it does.

Dulrik actually sits at his computer all day, waiting for someone to lose levels. The stat loss isn't actually automated like everyone thinks it is. Upon recieving an alert that someone has lost a level, Dulrik looks at their stats himself, and steals a point from wherever he thinks it will be hardest for the player to figure out where they lost a stat from.
