Given the pills we already swallow in the game, including but not limited to:
- furries
- vulgarity
- sexxx
- accents
- shenanigans

It is worth noting that a "hai, doozo" or a "sumimasen" or even a "de gozaru yo" is something people are perfectly welcome to add to the above list and deal with, you'd think.

Its not like an entire culture is being forced on you. If I had a small enlightenment for every improperly constructed bit of scotts-dwarven accent, incorrect tense of elizabethan pronouns, or even right-out third rate English, I could create a character and ascend him or her to immortal status.

Also. Its not quite vanilla, that song, Phantom....

I do this on a character of mine, OP, and I just opt for using English translations of the phrases. It lends more believability, I think, to say "I wonder?" instead of throwing a bunch of romanji on someone who might not be well-travelled enough to understand.

Gackt's "Vanilla" isn't all that vanilla, either.

Aza, I'll agree with Thyki that customs, quirks, and mannerisms will set you far more apart than the use of foreign words, esp. words that arent pronouns (the wakizashi and paenula that were previously mentioned). RP is not just limited to our words, but to our actions as well, and in truth, words without appropriate action would ring hollow.

That being said, you already do a good job of what I'm suggesting, so don't worry. :P

While I do not enjoy the japanese titles that sometimes occur in the game. I must say that if people can have complete japanese title, which indicates that the language exists ICly and some people know what the words mean. Not that I do, but still. Then I see no reason why your character shouldn't be able to speak a few words of japanese here and there.

And while you'll probably end up annoying the **** out of me, I do not see any reason why you shouldn't just go with it.

I'm a strong supporter of using the common language of English to convey ideas as it is far better understood by the playerbase than any other language. That even goes for the world. When someone goes to another country it is pretty easy to find someone that can speak English and if they are not it is likely because they are being dicks. In that case it is best that you know someone and are with a person from that country that can speak the language fluently so that you don't get taken advantage of, dicked over.

I vote a resounding YES. Do it. Hanashimasu it up. Don't let the pharisaical RP-Nazis stop you. You pay just as much as they do to play the game.
