It was a joke sweetheart, and I don't have any say where it goes (obviously) I was just speaking my mind. The information definitely needs to be made more easily available to characters who have training in the equipment.

I'm sorry, I'm [REDACTED], I use sweetheart pretty gender neutral in my day to day life. My mistake for using it on the internet on a woman.

I'll take it at face value, then. Apology accepted. :)

Really, I think in the training areas would be sufficient though, if we can't agree on them being in the help files. I agree that there would be no real reason for some characters to know about certain weapons, but it stands to reason (IMO) that if the "trainer" is going to teach you how to use a spear, he might explain to you what the features of different spears are.

Indeed, and command that tells you about an items features, so long as you're trained in it, would also go a long way, and should be applicable in shops as well as the consider command. There is no IC reason that I can think of to make you buy it before you can get a good look at it.

Figure it out yourself. If you can't be assed to put in the time to investigate the items and test them out, then you don't deserve to know anything about them. I also can't think of anybody that deserves this information less than the waste of a human being that the original poster of this topic is. There's no such thing as a free lunch and you shouldn't look to others to do the work that you yourself could do, if you weren't so god damn lazy.

The correct answer you're looking for in a spear though is that it is designed to stab things, and by virtue of its physical properties by having a smaller surface area it generates obscene amounts of force, allowing it to easily rend flesh and do grievous damage to vital organs in the victim's body.

As for getting Dulrik to update this, good luck. I've asked for the identify spell to not include the "pc" and "npc" race tags in the spell. He has shown utter contempt for this idea as this fourth wall shattering tag in the spell needs to be there so that our characters can actually ponder if they are just random bits of data in a computer simulation and if there were hyper-dimensional beings that created the world that they live in.

Here is why it should be more easily seen in the game. If you go to a hardware store and see several different hammers, knowing you went to the store looking for the ball pin hammer, but you don't know what it actually looks like. You would ask, "Where are your ball pin hammers?"

When you do list it should list the subtypes, because it is IC that you aren't just asking to look at their stock, you are asking specifics about their stock to begin with. If you go in there wanting a battlespear, that shopkeep will direct you to the battlespears.

It comes as no surprise to me that a person who expects others to kiss their [REDACTED] for the duration of his character because she helped them once finds that HELPING NEW PLAYERS AND CHARACTERS is something that we shouldn't strive for.

And, because one might rather find the information somewhere in the game without wasting tons of coin and time and energy than sucking up to your mighty ego and facing the wrath that comes with NOT LIKING YOU, they're worthless human beings.

Perfectly logical.
