Paladin665: Yeah, I raised hell with the IMMs to find that out. I made sure I wrote it down. (I even requested that they add it to the note help list a year ago. To this day, it hasn't been done. :()

While I'm thinking about it, let me add this. There are only 3 people in the game that can remove a posted note.
1) The IMMs
2) The player who posted it
3) The person it was for. (And a note to "All" means there are only 2 people who can remove it ).

I realize notes have value, some longer than others. But PLEASE, if the note is not longer meaningful, please remove it. This will help the IMMs out, and help keep the note boards clutter free.

If I remember right, the duelist board has notes going back YEARS oocly.

Really is a pain to scroll through all that.

Bump. Someone was using an old thread to ask questions and someone else referenced them to this thread, so I went and updated the actual first post to be more inclusive and to ask aid of those using something other than zmud to let me know what they're doing so we can unconfuse those not using zmud to know what to do. :)

Someone really ought just sticky this little thread. Never ceases to amaze me how many characters can write great descriptions of length which they must have used an editor for to get proper, and then become note board challenged. *boggles*

Revamped the original post after taking into consideration everyone's thoughts here, as well as an older thread someone dug up to bring up issues they had with note posting.

Clients may have their settings in different places but I hope the wording I presented this time around clears up the fact that this 'tutorial' was not intended for Zmud users only.

Failing everything else, remember that you've already in a way done your 'Dear Character X' in your 'note to' line, and given a subject. If nothing else, you can write a paragraph note just like you would your own character description to get the message across. And ultimately that is the goal of writing notes IC. Getting information out to others.

Perhaps we can put together a post of all these ideas and get it stickied?

Ugh that's what I had done this morning with the original post.

It'd be nice to have this stickied, and have the help file in game updated accordingly.

When I posted that, I didn't have time to read your post. Good job on updating it. :P

Gentle reminder: There are still some who are not formatting there posts. I won't mention names, but if you write a note on the boards, please make sure your format it with the .f command. It makes it 100 times easier to read for some of us on less than ideal clients. Thanks!

*rolls over and plays alive briefly*

I also have to wonder if this...
http://www.shatteredkingdoms.org/desc_editor
works for notes as well as it works for descriptions, given it
is the same sort of editor.

Ok back to the rest of my real life.
(Only thing that seems to work on the work machine atm is Outlook and the Internet. Network is otherwise down. EW.)
