Does severing someone's arms stop you from gaining xp, from that point on? |

Depends. You earn XP for damage delt, so you cut off a sword arm, will reduce (or eliminate) the damage they are dealing to you, so it would kill that source of XP. However, XP is also earned through spells. So it would not effect that at all I think. Now, rereading the question, you might be asking if YOU stop gaining XP when you lop off someones arms. I don't think you do, cause even if you lop off arms, your still doing damage when you keep hitting them. Somoene can correct me of course if I have wrong info on that. |

If a NPC is unable to deal damage to you(because you cut off both its arms for example, as the topic states), you won't earn xp from it. So aim upper or lower during levelling. Aim mid won't really help you to get xp. |

Aiming upper, you won't hit as often, and if it's a NPC that bashes, kicks, kicks dirt, etc, you will disable them if you aim lower. |

You won't hit as often, but won't you do more damage faster, if you aim upper? |

Good advice. I thought earning XP was for damage dealt, not damage receieved.... sleeper |

sleeper You don't earn XP for damage recieved. The only reason you can't earn exp while fighting NPCs without hands is because it makes things too easy, not much of a challenge if the NPC can't even hit you. |
