There is a difference between combat XP and non-combat XP. I was wondering if healing undead (using harm or cause spells) counts as non-combat XP, just like healing a normal person (using heal spells) would be, or if it is considered combat XP as if you were casting harm on anything else (non-undead creatures, of course, are hurt by that spells).

I couldn't answer this for sure because I'm not an imm, but I have played several priests who, at certain levels, used cure spells as a main source of leveling. Since the experience a priest can get from healing undead is comparable to, for instance, magic missile, I've always assumed it counts as combat xp.

MPT,

CAUSE spells, not CURE spells. Try again homie ;) Opey if it TAKES hit points in anyway it is combat xp, whether it is a CURE spell or a CAUSE spell. If it GIVES hit points it is non-combat XP.

Hey, thanks for that. That makes sense and that is what I assumed but it is nice to have some communal confirmation.

I would presume that healing undead does not count as combat xp. I've never tried though.

Doesnt affect healing undead at all. You aren't healing the undead, you are doing damage to them, same as doing damage to anything else.
