because it was when Dulrik added Aura of Negation that I realized that SK will never be anywhere close to a balanced game

Spinning kick is so much worse as far as this is concerned.

Go fight any elite-flagged NPC or swashie NPC in a group and you'll see it quickly enough.

It was one of the things revealed as "coming to a PC near you soon" during the grp that released kip, but it's currently only on NPCs.

Meh, I don't think swashies will get that. It's way too broken.

Anyway, yeah, tell your newbies to roll griffon MR hammarbs if you want them to have fun, but not if you want them to enjoy any other classes afterwards. If you want to give them a more accurate picture of SK, have them roll a humanoid non-MR barb or merc.

It was announced as a soon-available-to-PCs skill. And yes, it is.

Clearly the BEST way to give them a clear picture of what awaits them is for them to roll Half-Elven Hellions of either War or Fear, and then at Journeyman tell them to go into Exile's inn for a few minutes, while clad in low quality equipment, and unarmed. That should give them the most accurate picture possible.

ITT bitter old timers post thinly veiled complaints about fame balance, aura based rp, etc. I'd tell a true newb who just wanted to learn the game to do an unprincipled halfling priest of sadal so as to avoid racial or religious enmity and be welcome everywhere.

I'll agree that a cloth priest can teach them some pretty important aspects of this game.

Pretty sure heavy armor priest is the most fearsome thing in the game.

All I'm going to say about this is that if it wasn't released to PCs in the same weekend as the RP event, then it really wasn't supposed to be brought up during the RP event. Some things changed with short notice that weekend and there were a few misses in communication between me and the admins running the event.

If you think you've seen a new ability and no class has it, there is probably a reason for that as it stands.
