Eh, you only get impairment for spells cast at you, not spells recited/zapped/brandished.

Now, if I zip in, try a cast petrification but you resist, does that impairment make you vulnerable to a recite?

Which was the intention. If you spend the time to cast it, it's wasn't a COMPLETE waste of time even if it failed. (Although still mostly a waste of time.)

Is this why color spray spamming is becoming more predominant?
Is it forcing double impairment, a reflex against the damage, and a fortitude against the blindness?
Followed up by a petrify after the blind lands, because you know their fortitude has been sufficiently impaired?

Or is color spray pure reflex, and they are just banking on no one stacking reflex?

Color spray is a reflex save, and if you fail the reflex save it's a fortitude save.

So you're either going to take a reflex impairment, a fort impairment if you fail the reflex save, or get blinded.

No, this is usually a tactic to blind as many people as possible.

So we are following standard tiered spell types.

If you succeed the reflex save, reflex is impaired but there is no fort save.
This continues to stack the reflex impairment, until you fail the reflex save.
At which time the blindness chance hits, causing a fort save.
If you make the save, fort also begins to become impaired.

Am I missing anything?

And yes, blindness is a major factor in PvP.
However does the blindness from Color Spray actually land easier than the actual blind spell due to its reduced duration?
Because I have resisted probably around six blind spells in a row before, but with color spray by the time the fourth is hitting it always seems to blind.
(And color spray is faster casting than blind)
