I spent a great deal of time making sure I was superb with the dagger, mace and the sword.. now I checked and my skills in everything is average, even the things i trained hard in and spent gold to increase. The giant strength spell may be involved, I'm not sure. What happened? I didn't die, I'm still a level 4 Amateur on the character in question. Yet all of my skills are only at 'average' that before were higher, even after the giant strength skill wears off. |

You are probably wearing armor too heavy for your weight class try help armor or help armor2 in game. |

That is rather odd. Duane's character is a mercenary, which is a class capable of wearing heavy armor. |

Wearing armor that is too heavy is the only thing I can think of that would cause this issue ("help armor2"). Duane, can you verify if this is a mercenary class as Smoochy suggests, or is this on a mage/ priest/ adventurer class who might be hindered by the heavy armor? |

Were you affected by frenzy or berserk? Although I don't think that would affect weapon skills... |

Poo. Smoochy was assuming duane's class, cause he was wearing scale armor at the time. You know what? Never mind. Smoochy will make absolutely sure to ask a newbie's class in the future. He needs to remove that armor... |

Berserk definately does not affect weapon skills. Only thinking skills like languages. |

The character in question is a Mercenary, or at least that is what the woman who helped the character last night called it. She did have me put on new armor to replace my scale from the academy.. and then junked my scale. |

The character that prayed about this issue in game is not actually practiced in the mercenary class skill set, however. The penalties explained in help armor2 are based on the class you selected during character creation. |

If you were given scale at the academy then you arent a merc. You'll need light armor not heavy. |
