PK dropped off significantly -way- before Thuban's posts about rule 1.

Man, what a bummer. Back in the day I could literally log in at any time, and there was some sort of PVP going on. Too bad

Well for what it's worth, having one extra player certainly helps :).

Going to necro this. Starting to think about coming back when my time fees up in about a month. Sounds like there's been some pretty drastic changes to the game though. What's generally good these days? Last time I played may have beenlike 8 years ago? Give or take.

Currently rolling around the newbie areas as a centaur shaman. For the life of me, I can barely remember what the max-stats were for any of the races. Also I see that enchanting has changed. Is it generally advisable to have stats quite a bit below max and use enchantments to get maxed?

If you want to plan for enchanters you should leave at least 4 stats off of their max that you would otherwise max.

You can put 4 enchants almost guaranteed to non-armor items, 5 if you're willing to potentially blow it up a couple of times. That means that you have 6 jewelry slots and an "about body" slot that you can use to enchant stats or saves. As a shaman I would be tempted to max WIS but leave my int, str, dex and constitution at least 4-5 points off of max, that would leave me the ability to enchant for those while still having 3 extra pieces for will, fort and reflex.

That leaves more room for mana, art and hp trains.

Welcome back Ajon. I would go 3 trains past durable, stay at brilliant int, 3 trains after wise.

Might I ask why you stopped playing years ago? Was it a time issue?

Mostly just enchanting loot to be effective seemed like too much of a time sink to be worth it and I got tired of spending days to a week enchanting stuff that I could lose quickly.

It's not clear to me when you last played Ajon, but it must have been before the enchant changes a few years back. There is almost no time sink left in the enchanting process these days.

That's great. I had originally thought it was 5 or 6 years ago, but it could have been 4. Been working on a doctorate so its been pretty busy. I think my last major character was Ayaberin or something like that if it helps. Kinda sad to see so few players on. It was still going pretty strong when I last played.

Don't be scared off by the low numbers, every time someone comes back or joins new that will only help bring the numbers back up.
