Do you have a more likely chance to get better with a skill/spell/song after failing, or is it just a general percentage of chance to improve regardless of success?

I think it is fifty/fifty. But failing helps since you only use half as much mana/pe so you can do it more often.

It's definitely true that "learning from your mistakes" and improving at a skill improves you more at a skill than when "you have become better at xxx" after succeeding to perform it.

In addition, I'm personally of the mindset that you are more likely to improve based on failures of a skill than on successes.

These two facts combined together make it so that you will greatly decrease the time required to learn a skill if you practice it while wearing armor heavier than your class can normally wear. This is particularly true for mastering spells and certain skills, and is IMO a major pain point for heavy armor priests.

However, this should be tempered with the knowledge that there are some skills which you cannot learn from through "failed checks" e.g. weapon skills, and that each skill does also seem to possess its own improvement rate independent of other skills.

I am fairly sure your current Int has a significant impact on your skill improve chance as well.

That's a given. But for those people who have low int, I was hoping that failing a skill would grant a better chance at getting better with said skill versus the random succeeding and advancing said skill.
