They can also just raw charm, too, so that's two insta-win, one-shot impairment spells. Balance!

Meh. Charm got its saving throw thrown into the tank, and isn't impairment. It also takes 2 rounds to cast and can't be scribed. Petrification is the way to go now.

Scribed triple FoD seems to still work well. Hell, if you really wish you enemy to stick around. Charm one of a billion swashies and have them taunt. Learn your new skill set and adapt. This is just silly now.

Undead swashies can't taunt, sherlock. The -only- way that a necro has to keep someone in the room is bash from controls now. There's only one triple FoD scroll in the game, and the key to it is being hoarded by Ardith: Although that scroll isn't all that great anyway since it's relatively low level.

Why would anyone stack willpower over fort when petrification is a one shot impairment spell and there are 14 art sorcs running around for enchanting?

The reason that you don't see casted finger of death is because no one is going to sit still long enough for a necro to cast it at them.

But you think people are going to sit around long enough for a sorc to cast petrification?

There's a certain stigma on standing in a room with a necromancer. I think it's related to the fact that standing in a room with a necromancer is the only way he can hurt you, and aside from bashing you he has no way to keep you in the room. Therefore, necros hardly get the chance to cast FoD.

Eh, people might stick around in a room with a necro now that they aren't completely outmatched and overwhelmed by the old melee dps of the class.
