Something I've been liking to see -- make corpses show what they were killed by. What do I mean exactly? For example, let's take the harm spell death message:

A newbie neuter griffon is ripped into pieces as you slaughter it with your spell!

Wouldn't it be neat if instead of seeing The corpse of a griffon on the ground after that, you'd instead see "The mangled corpse of a griffon?" I'd like to see this for for a majority of the different death effects -- for example, if the death blow was caused by magma spray, it could be something along the lines of "The charred corpse of a griffon," if by a sword, "The slashed-up corpse of a griffon." This would add a lot in the way of RP, you'd be able to get a glimpse at how someone or something died if you come across a corpse.

Thoughts?

There would be over 40 different corpse types.

If I was given a list of every damage type, I could come up with a list in twenty minutes.

Either way, I don't see how 40 different corpse types makes it a bad idea.

I second that, imagine a battlefield after massive group PK
bodies, arrow-filled, impaled, decapitated, charred, drained, mangled, smoking etc

Although in some technical dificulty, it would take under consideration of the final blow, so if lets say I shoot at someone 10304 arrows and take him to 1% then I punch him, he gets 'beat up' or something, but still I like it.

And on a second note, I would like to see animates regaining the race/sex of the corpse from npc's
A wraith created from a male elf is floating here eerily.

Just change how damage is done to each body part.

Rather than just scratched, bleeding, bleeding heavily, mangled and severed, have damage descriptions for each type such as seared, burnt, pierced, slashed, bruised, melted, etc.

Then, when you die, whatever damage type is most prominent becomes your corpses adjective.
Code:
...
A burnt corpse of a female elf is here
A bruised corpse of a male human is here
...
