You're smoking rocks, Calfalos.

I'm willing to bet that you have an incredibly [REDACTED] climb skill too.

All-in-all this log doesn't help us to identify anything. What was your rating at climb when you attempted this?

Quote:
Climb allows you to cross mountains and cliffs in the wilderness,
although cliffs and snowy mountains are harder to cross than regular
mountains. Climbing can be hampered somewhat by loss of limbs or the
presence of a rider on your back. If you are mounted, only the climb
ability of the mount matters - you will be carried along based on
whether or not your mount succeeds.

When you fail a climb check, you are likely to fall. The worse your
climbing skill, the more likely it is that you will fall farther.

Falling causes damage proportional to the distance you've fallen.

....

Did you read the post? I'm not answering any of this. It's all in the log. Well I will speak to one thing you said. I had a rider on my back for the first climb attempt and he actually got north but I didn't. The rest there is no rider.

Everything else you ask about is my post. Read it.

Edit: The point of the post as well isn't that I can't climb it's that climb should have its success rate changed. You'll never ever get good at climb with the way it is now. Has any character ever mastered climb btw? Anyone?

Okay, fair isn't a really high chance to succeed. It's somewhere about 50% I think.

And you had a rider which decreased that.

Do the math.

Cyra is the only guy around who likes climb as it is and finds it perfect. It's an old, stupid case.

The rider was off me the first failed attempt and as I said, that is only about half my efforts since I can't put long logs on the forums.

If your skill is at less than 50% then you are going to be failing the majority of your checks at it. That doesn't mean the skill is broken.

Give me a break from your idiocy.

In any case, the skill needs to be reconsidered, at least regarding the drawbacks on a failed roll. They are so severe that they do not allow anyone even practise it, rendering it useless.

okay, it was probably just superg...but close enough!

It does hurt like hell to fall. You may want to scale the damage down a little, but otherwise I can't think of any logical reason to change it.

actually, I think the damage is fine. A fifty foot drop is going to hurt like hell, no matter how you slice it. If you're a dumb poozer, you might not walk away from THAT. The damage could be a lot WORSE, from what I see.
