This is something that has been a particular bane to me, and I'm making a suggestion based on it. I don't know if other people have the same problem, and perhaps there's an easier personal solution besides doing this that I'm not familiar with. Open to discussion!

It has to do with races and adjectives, and remembering those that you should know already, simply by regular acquaintence. After all, it's part of the "scenery". I associate with a lot of players, and to remember what they all are is the dickens, and shuffling through glances to determine what exactly they are to reference them for roleplay purposes is beyond tedious. Some give obvious signs, such as griffons and the occasional sprite, but it's like slogging through molasses.

What I'd like to suggest is an "auto reference" toggle, that allows a player to see the current race/adjective a player is simply by looking at the room.

For example:
auto reference OFF
Sallymae is standing here, chatting animatedly.

auto reference ON
Sallymae (blueskinned elf) is standing here, chatting animatedly.

Thoughts?

Great idea! Looking would be so much easier than glancing! One letter versus typing in a name too. I'm for it!

I'd really like a 'remember' command for people you've met who aren't present in the room.

Code:
XXX says, "What does Liri look like?"

remember liri
Liri is a tawny-haired female elf.

You say, "Oh, she's got tawny-hair.  Some elf."

Like that.
It would make life a lot easier in general.

That would be absolutely awesome too. Even with great text-to-visualization skills, it's hard to keep track of what everyone is and looks like, particularly when there's so much more important stuff to remember, like your interactions with that person.
