This already happens.

Also, the "count" command tells you how many people are online at any given time, which may vary from your who list number. This would seem to be a feature that some are unfamiliar with, so I'm simply pointing it out.

I'll additionally confirm that body parts and the like will give the names of people you haven't greeted.

Bards can lore a corpse and get the name. I've done that a few times just to make sure so and so dead body isn't a newbie who's struggling to figure out how to get back to life. I'll generally shoot a priest a tell and go "hey there's a lowbie dead, want to help them out."

Priests can already do something similiar if they come across a corpse of dropping their spirit sight and pulling it back up.

Also if you want to be anon, try playing a character instead of yourself as that character. :p There are certain people who are easily identifiable to those who are observant and it has nothing to do with whether or not they've been greeted or where they are in the who list. Some people have certain characteristics they play in all their characters, either personality or other behaviors.

This is definitely broken. I'm curious how long it has been broken, but either way I'll look into fixing it.

Years, as in most likely at least a half-dozen if not longer.

Found the bug. It works and has always worked for corpses, steaks, skins and some body parts. Other body parts and dolls did not work.

Dolls should still list by name. After all, its spirits coming to the shaman to instruct them to create a doll linked directly to the individual in question. Spirits of untold and undescribed powers probably aren't restricted by "greet".

That seems counter, to me, to age-death characters, who lose people's names and do not gain new ones. I see spirit doll creation as a unique formula to using the body part in question to attach it to a simulacrum for most efficient use of it through ambient energy in the flesh. It wouldn't give additional information about the person.

On a side note, isn't there a modifier in place with voodoo for potency added towards a greeted person over a non-greeted person? I seem to remember reading this a while back, but could just be my imagination.

No. That was how it used to work, pre-voodoo dolls.

This seems a bit pointless like your last proposition of making resurrection take xp away from priests.

If it aint broke, don't fix it.

I like that idea
