Hey, man, huge congrats to you and your sister!

I don't think we ever actually played together enough to justify the overwhelming feelings of manly love I have for you, but here I am, a man with his heart on his sleeve, telling you how much I desperately love you, and begging you to never forget the good times we had in the game, on the forums, and on yim together, about a decade ago.

Love,
Baldy

Honestly, it's mutual. I always loved playing with you. Lots of good times back then. I don't remember who I played then, really, but I know I had fun playing with and against you.

I remember all your characters from when I played, and which ones I actually interacted with.

There was Xantium, an elf pally who was an opponent of Aldric.
Ashtaron, a delf warlock who was friendly with Aldric and also overlapped with Dago.
Maladash, a delf necro who would have overlapped with Dago and Joseph.
Baalu, a centaur scout in GoA I wasn't active during, but I believe marked your ascension from the ranks of kinda newbish to pretty vet
And Oraaji, a BH centaur scout who overlapped with Marietta and Tarconus.

You also made a rogue named Jaren who was supposed to be Dago's son but I don't think you stuck with him.

It's always kind of wild to me when I reflect on the fact that for me, the SK world is still stuck in 2011, but it has moved on without me. I still imagine a world where characters are telling their elf grandkids scary stories about Ealuriel, Taslamar is still reeling from Antiira's rampages, Kura is maniacally laughing about some plot or other, etc. I'm sure so many characters have come and gone in the last decade, so many stories told, and the ones that define SK for me have been long since forgotten to SK history. And of course, not just the game world, but the players are different. Even the ones who are the same have probably changed in terms of skill and play style and would now define themselves by pointing to characters I never knew instead of the ones I remember. I wonder if players who still play today even remember -their- characters from 2011 as well as I do.

Annnnnyways it has been a nice walk down nostalgia lane. Seriously, all the best to you and your sister and good luck making even better RL stories with those kiddos.

"If you can't beat em, join em."

Which is how Jerel turned into Krabr. Thanks for all the memories on both.

It's so strange to feel the loss of a character and player after all of this time, which should say something about what it is they brought to the game and how they affected others. The character drove story wherever they went, whether it was development of characters through interaction or trying their hand at affecting an entire kingdom's RP. The player took the time to coach and demonstrate to new and veteran players alike. Been playing this game for decades and have only now started to actually learn about all of the end game fun stuff.

For this player to be gone for so long and for other players to still look over at their empty chair hoping to see them in it absolutely speaks to them and what they did.

Hope everything's good with you, Bones.
