We will be migrating the game to a new server tomorrow night (Sunday 8/29). I will be locking the server sometime in the afternoon / evening Pacific Time and transferring the latest character progress, etc at that time. It will probably take between 1-2 hours. Once the new server is ready, I will update the login screen for the old server and let you know the IP address of the new one. You will have to access the new server via it's IP address until the domain name changes are processed. That will probably take between 24-72 hours. The old server will go completely offline as of September 1st. By that time, hopefully the domain name transfer will be available to everyone. The Good News: This server should be much faster than the existing server. I anticipate that lag should be much less because it's now using SSD storage instead of a hard drive. The Iffy News: I haven't had as much time to test the game on the new server as I would like. Please let me know if you come across issues after the migration. Why now? The existing server is so old now that our hosting company is shutting down the entire server farm where it lives. But honestly, this should have been done years ago. |
