I don't know if this can be done or not, but I had an idea that could keep the adbots from posting on SK. I don't know about the numbers, but here is an example. If a post doesn't get like 10 views within an hour (arbitrary number) it automatically gets deleted and Alshain gets the necessary stats of the user. This would help keep maintenance of the forums easier. I know the number of adbots has been reduced, but this could help. If it is possible to do. |

I don't think that particular suggestion would work. First of all, there are plenty of legitimate posts that wouldn't get 10 views in an hour. Second of all, it can sometimes be impossible to tell a spam post from a real post just by the title. Most people are on auto-pilot and just click on the next post without even reading the title anyway. |

Just a suggestion to help Alshain. I know you all are busy and I think we can all agree that we would rather you guys do something else then even have top deal with one spam note. |

You could give more players moderation privileges on the forums, every time a change is made a log is sent to Alshain and their only responsibility is bot post removal. If mature ppl are chosen everything will run smoothly. |

I've posted my fix for AdBots twice now, but I'll give it one more go. Unless someone has specifically created a bot to run on THIS site this fix should work. Basically all you need is another question/answer box during registration that asks a simple question. i.e. What does SK stand for? Then they have to type in Shattered Kingdoms (which there is a picture for at the top of the page). Anyhow, if they dont type that in, don't let them register. The other thing you would have to do is delete all users with 0 posts. I bumped this up to users with less than 5 posts. The reason being is that most spam bots make accounts long before (sometimes months) posting. I know it won't happen though, because you all enjoy seeing the whatever thousand registered users! and someone would lose their hard on if that number went down by a few hundred. |

I'm not even joking either. I just went and looked. There's ~1600 registered users. There's 326 people with ZERO posts. There's 810 people with 5 posts or less. A lot of these people look like bots. *shrugs* |

People who have posts are probably not bots. I delete any user who spam posts and then usually ban their domain name from registration. I also run through new registrations on a weekly basis and delete anyone who I can finger as a bot or spammer. It's usually not hard to tell. But yeah. I think putting the SK question in would be good in theory. We have tried a couple of other mods that are supposed to do something similar but they caused a lot of lag on the forums. Obviously it was either a bad mod or we set it up incorrectly. |

What irks me is to see these bots post free porn, yet there are so many people who actually view the post. |

Hey, I just saw a graphic for something I registered for recently. Instead of just typing the letters/numbers from the graphic. You actually had to do a simple math problem. Just an idea. |
