Every area has it's risks.

Some of us prefer to take risks for easy/high rate XP.

I cannot say much before trying to level there, but I will certainly see it sometime.

If you dont like it. there's plenty of other areas to level at.

Meissa Heaven and Tlaxcala colony are 2 big examples, for vs caster leveling areas. The bards in the Aphitheatre is another. I have trained in all of these with relative ease, while I dont do as well vs barbarians.

And Jardek : priest level was beaten with some serious nerf equipment. We're talking bats, dart guns, and even the nerf bow and arrow.

See, that's the whole problem.

Also, Tlaxcala is a hugely popular leveling area - almost all sorcerors.

Hah, you should see how most players use that zone to level. :p Especially when the priests were still in groups of 3 and spam'd harm like their life depended on it.

People don't level there because they enjoy it, they level there because it's one of the few zones were a person can actually gain solo exp at master level and above. Other areas like Beozaztar, N'ykasha, ToM, Wastelands, CoH require groups.

To it's credit though, the sorcerors in Tlaxcala actually have sorceror like HP and capabilities, they aren't stupidly ridiculous to attempt as long as you can keep their numbers down. If you pull a group of three..well good luck surviving the confusion.

I'd like to add that new areas should showcase some reason for existing. Either as a racially important place, a place where something historical happened, or some other reason that makes someone rationalize why they would be there int he first place. A story line is always a good thing.

As for the complaint about barbarians, I've gone ahead and switched them to mercenaries. Feel free to take a look and see if that makes things any easier.

Thank you, I hate seeing a new NPC that happens to be a barb and then get wtfowned by counterstrike.

If the concern is just counterstrike, maybe it didn't need to be changed. Only higher level barbarian NPCs have counterstrike trained, the same as PCs.

I would think the concern is counterstrike/berserk/fury/wild fighting.

Training on NPCs and seeing them get that wild look pretty much means your screwed, and the ones that are high enough level to have wild fighting obviously do insane damage without the benefit of being able to get better at disarm/parry which I consider to be an advantage of leveling on things that do use weapons.

The concern is that they do crazy damage, not counterstrike obviously.

Wild fighting and fury are also higher level skills. The area in question is listed as Initiate to Apprentice. Try to keep that in mind when giving advice.
