IMO the GD forum needs to be back completely. The forums are boring and dead 99% of the time, idk why it was ever taken down in the first place.

The purpose of the forums is to be informative not entertaining. If you want entertainment, we have a game for that.

I'd like to see what the staff would think about allowing an official favorite quotes thread back again. I think that right now it fits pretty well within the guidelines of what the gameplay forum should contain, but I don't want to start one just to get it shut down. As long as the quotes are not making fun of players and the conversation doesn't get sidetracked, I think it would be an excellent addition to the forums. I know that it was my favorite thread to read whenever I frequented the forums before.

My recollection is that the majority of the quotes that went into the thread were actually making fun of someone or their mistakes. I am not totally against Favorite Quotes, but these forums no longer permit that kind of activity. So can you give more examples of what would be posted which would not be against the rules?

The majority of the things that I liked about favorite quotes were funny anecdotes of things that characters did, like a shaman playing with voodoo dolls as if they were real dolls, surviving a fight with 1% hp, Veret singing an entire song about how cool it would be to be a walrus while going on a trip, etc.

Yes, there were also times when people would post poorly written titles or descriptions, which I never liked, and sometimes favorite quotes would get derailed because of some enmity on the forums, but overall I think the majority of the content was not malicious in nature, or even derogatory, but rather a general place to share memorable anecdotes with other players that would otherwise not have the ability to see them.

Personally, I think that favorite quotes would be -better- with the new forum rules, because it would be more clear that it was a thread about sharing fun with others as opposed to making fun of others.

I liked favorite quotes, generally, because it was a simple expression of some favorite game moments. Clearly rules must be followed, but I think we can have both favorite quotes, and keep within the parameters of the forum rules.
