My guess would be either you just bought the skin of lemonade and the game is reading the contents as something different.

To test I would suggest emptying the skin and filling, take a drink or two, and then try to refill it again.

It says its full of pink liquid, so its most likely lemonade.

I'm guessing the fill command only checks whether or not the container is empty, and not the actual contents. So to prevent 'mixing' or contaminating your original liquid it just doesn't let you fill partially full containers even if its the same type of liquid.

The way to change it, if Dulrik thinks its a life and death situation, would be to add a way to check the skin for its content as well as for emptiness when trying to fill it up. Thanks to the empty command though, you can just empty the thing and fill it back up.

From my experiences, Corporate Avenger is correct.

Edit: For I have been able to in the past fill only a half full container.

Once empty, it could be refilled. The thing is the comment about another liquid being in it. It is lemonade, same as the fountain.

I know for a fact that you can fill partially full containers of water from water fountains.

True, it does sound like a bug to me, although of minor importance. Yes, you can empty the skin and refill it from the fountain, and from then on, refill it anytime you like, without emptying it. Yet, the code should recognise that the liquid in the skin is the same with the liquid in the fountain. Sounds like the bug is in the skin's properties, so, it can easilly be fixed.

Nope, the bug is in the refill code.
I emptied the skin, refilled it, drank half of it, and tried to refill it from the same fountain. It did the same. The code works on water, but not on lemonade. I think it will likely do the same with other liquids.
