This is walking on the road near Kytar in the Empire, and its 3pm(as seen above) and there is no sun. Ive bug logged this about 5 times in the past few months, but never seems to get fixed. Anyone else ever have this problem before?

It happens when people go link dead in a spot. I don't think anyone can figure out why.

During night time...

> stat <room that no-one is in>
Light: 0

> stat <room that someone is in holding a torch>
Light: 1

> stat <room that someone was in holding a torch and disconnected>
Light: -1

So find two light sources and see if that works. :)

PS: No, the bug is not actually as simple as a character disconnecting - we nailed one cause of the dark-room-that-shouldn't-be-dark a while back, but I can't replicate the cause of the one shown here.

This must be one of the oldest-unsolved known bugs.

The bug we did fix was related to holding a lightsource vs. merely carrying one in your inventory. Although the fix was probably a bit unwelcome (inventory no longer affected whether a room was lit), it greatly reduced the occurrences of rooms having negative light values.

As I said, if anyone can reliably replicate this, please do.

This has been happening to me the past two days on the whole Empire area from Kytar to Seawatch. Most rooms are completely dark no matter the time of day with random lit rooms scattered about. It's really frustrating.
