Want another neat bug? Polymorph into any of the elementals (Air elemental, fire etc) you gain all their natural resistances, but you still get hungry..the catch is, elementals can't ingest water or food so you can't eat. (And yes, at GM polymorphing into a fire elemental does give you a lot of the resistances that a warlock's GM fire elemental has. It's awesome.)

Exactly. As an elemental you're inability to to ingest food and water should preclude hunger and thirst, but it doesn't (though I suspect this relates to the stats of non-playable races not transfering like the playable ones do). There are all sorts of other bugs related to polymorph such as losing innate infravision, though that can be solved by logging on and off. These are at least fairly easily shrugged off.
But age dying due to polymorphing is just dumb. Each race as its own strengths and weakness, but age can only be a strength when building a new char. The way it is now, the spell becomes less useful over time. People are rightly liking the idea of the 'Seasoned skill' has it gives some benefit to aging a melee char. But it makes sense for this spell to become more worthless as time goes on?
It's all the more hilarious that I did this as an RP bit rather than something to gain an advantage in battle, and thankfully the other PC was a priest. If it's a feature, its a dumb one. But at least its now somewhere on the record that polymorph isn't nearly as useful as it seems before someone gets themselves killed when it really counts.

No plans to fix this. It's just one of the idiosyncrasies of polymorph.

Doesn't this make polymorph surprisingly useless to races like elves?

After a couple of real life years of play, it reduces your options. Many of the NPC races live as long as elves anyway, so you still have choices.

But an elf can never disguise themselves as a human, for instance.

It's mostly an observation!

Actually, polymorph takes your age - your starting age, and then adds that to the starting age of the targeted race.

So, a 101 year old elf will polymorph into a 16 year old griffon and be fine, but a 201 year old elf will polymorph into a 116 year old griffon and topple over.

I'll take it as a small moral victory, with a glimmer of hope for change one day. :D

Does this mean that these other races have set life-spans that might make us accidentaly keel over, as well? I assumed that since when polymorphing into these guys, you kept your own race's stats, that you'd keep your own age restraints as well.

This is only an issue with really long-lived races.

Wait... woah... do you die immediatly upon changing or if you stay in polymorph when you log off?

Further if you die because of this mistake (and therefor lose the spell) does your spirit have the option of returning even though the body you attempted to polymorph into died due to "age death?"
