Weapon speed enchantments don't stack with haste enhancement

Haven't investigated. My list of bugs to investigate got wiped out several months ago when I upgraded my laptop, so lost track of this and a bunch of others.

Gotya. As far as pvp is concerned, this bug seems to rank among the highest on the list of concerns/confusion right now. It is impacting how weapons are enchanted and which subtypes are specialized, among other things.

what's the current state on speed enchantments with haste? I think the last I checked it was that if you had more speed from haste than from speed enchantments, they did stack, but if you had equal or greater speed enchantments compared to your haste they did -not- stack, bringing up the weird situation where depending on the level of haste you were using, more speed enchantments would actually nullify all your speed enchantments altogether.

Is it still like that, or has it changed?

This will be fixed in the next update. Weapon speed and haste are both enhancement bonuses to weapon speed and will not stack.

this should definitely bring mercenaries down a peg or two, since it won't be possible to get get 5 attacks/shots with massive or ranged weapons now

they should lose roughly 20% damage

That is a buff to MR barbs.

Glad I don't play melee and am about to have my specialization nerfed. :drunk:

Haste does not give a bonus to "peak weapon speed", so if haste/speed enchantments are the "same kind of thing", does this mean someone can now put speed enchants on a fast weapon and get the "bonus" hit?

Is there a peak weapon speed?

Im sure speed enchants plus fury equalled 6 hits on a rapier while I was fiddling with a sorc a while back.

I haven't tested it recently, but I don't recall it working like that. An epee with speed still capped at 4 hits, 5 with spec/fury or haste, 6 with both. Perhaps it's different now.
