I was invisible and the creature could not see me, passed it several times. Got in a fight worded went back for what I had lost. I was invisible it didn't attack, I laid down to sleep and it killed me.

The NPC is not usually hostile. So you being invis passing it doesn't mean it didn't see you. Some NPCs like the bandits attack when you sleep.

Yeah, NPC is hostile when not invisible.


Seems the NPC involved is the Hydra.

Both of those NPCs are aggressive. Invisibility will not protect you from the basilisk.
