Currently, the command -
Code:
alias ' cast 'cure serious'

...will produce an alias listed as:
Code:
 cast           cure serious'
(note the leading space)

Trying to use any punctuation marks as alias keywords is not recommended.

I can show how this bug has happened to me in a log. I cannot show how I rid myself of it, and only know that it did end up disappearing. I did pray about it once, but I really am not sure what I did to make it go away. It just disappeared.

But the alias list in the first post included two aliases with no names, which I presume the poster wanted to be rid of.

Pray next time you're online, and we'll see if one of us can't help you out.

Just as an update to this topic:

Using the 'unalias' command works to remove problem aliases of this sort. You need to unalias the command exactly as you entered it the first time.

For example, entering an alias like this:
Code:
>alias 'l w' examine west

will give you an unusable alias that appears like this:
Code:
>alias
Currently defined aliases:

L w             examine west

In order to remove it, enter
Code:
>unalias 'l w'

This is as a result of the changes to scripting aliases lately. I love how it works now, though.

For example, you used to not be able to do the following, but you can now.

alias ss say $1$0&*
alias ` ss
` Hello, how are you?

I believe the term for this is called "in-line" aliases.

Lately? oh well, guess you veterans know more than my one year of playing. Since I started the stringing of aliases was already working...

I just checked, maybe it would be nice to add the "unalias" command to the help files of alias? just in case people have trouble in the future
