If I scripted a randomly timed emote, that shouldn't trigger anything. Similar to an emote script in an item. Is that a legal script?

Yes. It will keep you from voiding out without you at the keyboard.

Instead of having the script fire the emote, have it send a note to your client saying "Scratch your groin!" Then you can see it, and hit your jscratch emote.

Of course the first thing that is thought of is scratchin' yo ballz.
