Greetings all!

I am having a bit of trouble getting my MUSHclient to save when I quit the game. It saved just fine after the first few times and it has managed to store the first few aliases I added (mostly for spells)... however, I now get this message when I try to quit:

Access to C:\Program Files\MUSHclient\worlds\ShatteredKingdoms.MCL was denied

I then get a window asking if I would like to save changes to Shattered Kingdoms. I get a repeat of the response above when I click on "yes".

I consider myself an intelligent person, but when it comes to computers and programming issues, I can be VERY dense. I have tried to research a remedy with a google search and have only come up with links to forums where the conversation has soared way above my head. Any help is very appreciated... I will even consider a change to an entirely different mud client if anyone that knows about these things makes that suggestion.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Finney = my hero!

Thank you for being helpful without making me feel like a moron!

When I was posting, I couldn't help but think of Nick Burns (would insert a picture of the computer guy from SNL if I knew how... another lesson for another day I suppose, baby steps!)

Problem solved for now it would seem! Thanks again!

Was getting along just fine... and then my game froze.

I shut down the client and now I cannot reconnect. Is this a problem on my end or something with the game itself?

This is the message I get:

Unable to connect to "Shattered Kingdoms", code = 10061 (Connection refused)

Error occurred during phase: Connecting to world: 74.208.250.21, port 1996

For assistance with connection problems see:

Soooooo... I thought I had things fixed, but no dice.

I pulled the file out of the Program Files folder and placed in where I thought it would just be in the C: drive. When I hover over the icon though, it shows it as a short cut to MUSHclient (C:\Program Files).

Sorry I am so bad at this... any way to get rid of the Program Files designation? It seemed to work when I first did that, but it's back to its old "no save" tricks.

Another thought...

Would it be easiest to uninstall and change the file location when I reinstall?

For you, that would probably be easiest.

Tried that... so far so good... again. I'm sure I'll find a way to make it all fall apart. :-?
