Consider this,
we get the ability to multiclass, but the total of levels cannot go over 50. Meaning you can be from 49/1 to 25/25. What classes would you pick and why.

Note, given how SK works, the spell and skill power would be the your overall level (unlike eg DnD) so a 40/10 necro/paladin would actually cast a 50lvl finger of death.

REALLY fun thought exercise. Makes me still think we should SK seasons where random [REDACTED] like this happens.

I feel like this would only work if you only opened up spells to the total level you put in the other class (e.g. 11 in sorc only gives you sorc spells to 11)

Since spells break every 5 levels, your best break points for value are novice and initiate. You can only do novice of another class and still get magma on locks, for example. You can move up to apprentice but you start making real compromises except in a few circumstances.

To my eye, scout (herbalism/camo/tamoe) and necro (animate/sleep/detects/id) give you the most bang for the buck up to initiate as a subclass. Rogue is pound-for-pound the best 1-level subclass, with swashbuckler #2 just for dual wield.

1) Spiritual zealot. 26 barb, 21 shaman, 1 rogue. Spirit aura, backstab, 4th attack.
2) Priest of Death. 36 priest, 11 necro, 1 rogue. Animate dead + resurrection/gate
3) Speaker for the trees. 36 bard, 11 scout (fixes not getting shield block too), 1 lock.
4) Real Hellion (tm): 31 hellion , 11 paladin (frenzy/call armor), 1 bard (for the lulz of dancing as a defensive strat)
5) lmaodie: 36 merc, 11 swash (dual wield/heckle), 1 rogue (backstab for the luls). spec straight dagger and obliterate the game.

Would be interested in other ideas. Sounds like fun.

You would need to break classes out to gain abilities all the way through grandmaster, otherwise you never technically miss out on anything.

That said, it'd be interesting to see every class get a unique new capstone at grandmaster, and some more unique abilities to distinguish them later on (not that they aren't thematically and mechanically fairly different as it is).
