I can see Sypher's point, actually. It does seem problematic for just about every other class than a mage. As a sorceror though, you honestly should not be encountering situations like these.

Unless you're in Exile where charming is illegal and Zhenshi where it's questionable because of the "no dark magicks" laws....any darkie/greybie not in those areas should be peachy.

Sure, but like you already pointed out, not everyone is a sorceror, and at the time this happened, I hadn't expected the guard to leave, thus I didn't have the charm infront of me. I won't make that mistake again, but other classes still will encounter this problem.
