If you don't really know what you want, go with an accurate one-hander like epee, katana, or wakizashi, and either battlespear or pike. Reaching weapons are incredibly useful, and accurate one-handers are very forgiving weapons. You probably won't kill anything in record time, but your damage will be respectable and you'll be a good tank.

Also if I ever see you spam bashing I will level my sorc up and PK you into deletion.

Don't spec in wakizashi, it's really hard to find good material wakis.

true story bro :drunk:

The asian weapons are always hard to find in the game. I was routinely asked to locate katana, wakizashi, and no-dachi that were never there.

I hear crossbows have certain mechanical elements making them very attractive to people who want to be hardcore number crunchers.

I hear anyone who specs in a bow that isn't an archery bow has really missed out.

What I'm interested in, personally, is if certain cabal skill or spell-based weapons prove good specs?

A certain possibly light-aura cabal weapon, if it exists, would hypothetically make a very good weapon indeed, assuming that this weapon gave five hits at GM, was somewhat inaccurate, and did moderate damage without any aura-based damage multipliers. Hypothetically speaking, if one specialized in this weapon, one would significantly improve its accuracy, bump its speed up to five attacks at GM, six with haste, and retain the massive damage to undesirable persons. You know, if such a weapon existed. Hypothetically speaking. I have absolutely no idea if there's anything like that in the game of course.

man we need more hammercs those are scary

What about that other hypothetical weapon?

You know, the one that is so hypothetical that your character's hands are empty when he or she wields it?

Something something ranma 1/2 something something nerima daikon brothers.

You know, that one? I wonder if that would make a good specialization. I didn't see it on the list, though, which makes me think it isn't possible?

If you're talking about speccing in claws, mercs don't get wild fighting.

If you're talking about specializing in barehanded fighting, that also isn't a choice I'm sure.

As Edoras/Turon said. This is from Petrus' experience. We had the entire Council looking for something better than mithril (besides the darkie relig one) and never found it. So I always ended up with my weapon breaking in PvP or CRS. And, even with that, there's only two or three mithril ones that we could find.
